Nearly half of all accidents involving abrasive wheels are due to an unsafe system of work or operator error. This training guidance advises on precautions you can take to prevent accidents in the use of abrasive wheels, in particular injury resulting from either wheel breakage or contact with a running wheel. Its usefulness is widespread – in the construction and foundry industries and in engineering generally.

Surrey Safety Abrasive Wheels Course will provide your operatives training in the safe storage, selection and mounting of abrasive wheels and discs on portable and bench-mounted machines.

This will include :

Legislation and Regulations regarding working with Abrasive wheels, Nature of hazards and identification of causes, Safe work, Selection of correct machinery and personal protective equipment (PPE), Method of marking, Storing, Handling and transporting, Checking and use of discs, Machine Checks, Mounting and Dressing.

Our Course will teach your staff in practical terms how to identify the correct wheel/disk required, how to mount the wheel/disk and general safety in using the equipment, with a comprehensive look at all the hazards associated with using Abrasive wheels within the workplace.
